NEW MORITA PRODUCTS TO DEBUT AT THE ACADEMY OF OSSEOINTEGRATION ANNUAL MEETING

IRVINE, Calif. – (March 6, 2015) – J. Morita USA announces the R600T laser tip, a new treatment option accessory for the AdvErL Evo Er:YAG laser, and a new microsurgical blades product line, both to be displayed at the upcoming Academy of Osseointegration Annual Meeting.

Morita’s AdvErL Evo laser is effective for a broad range of applications on both hard and soft tissue and is clinically ideal for periodontal treatment. This unit offers a wide variety of tip options, now 20 tips in total, with three new tips just added to the product line. Most notably, AdvErL Evo has been studied and recognized clinically in the effective treatment of peri-implantitis, a challenging disease leading to bone loss around an implant. To further advance the management of patients with this disease, a new AdvErL Evo tip, the R600T, has been designed specifically to improve access to the infected tissue. The R600T emits the laser from the sides of the tip, as opposed to the end, which is especially useful for debridement of peri-implantitis. This directional feature is completely unique in the market and further expands AdvErL Evo’s clinical versatility and ability to treat this condition.

Feather Microsurgical Blades have also been added to J. Morita USA’s product line. They are made of high-quality stainless steel with a two-step grinding process which produces ultra-sharp cutting edges. The round and tapered shape is specifically designed for dental surgery and offers easy handling. Feather blades allow surgical precision with a very fine incision and are thus ideal for microsurgery and use with a microscope. They are appropriate for a wide variety of procedures for periodontal and regenerative surgery such as sulcus incision on thin gingiva, creating flaps, molar surgery, papillary incisions, and much more. All blades are gamma-sterilized and can be used immediately after opening the package. Multiple handle designs are also available.

The new AdvErL Evo R600T tip and Feather Microsurgical Blades will be introduced at the Academy of Osseointegration Annual Meeting in San Francisco, Moscone Center West, March 12-14, 2015, booth #118. Dentists may also stop by for a free gift with product trial at the booth. For more information, call 877-JMORITA (566-7482) or visit www.morita.com/usa.

J. MORITA INTRODUCES ADVERL EVO

IRVINE, Calif. – (September 3, 2014) – J. Morita USA introduces AdvErL Evo, an Er:YAG laser. AdvErL Evo is effective for a wide variety of applications on both hard and soft tissue and is clinically ideal for periodontal treatment.

AdvErL Evo eliminates the vibration of a high speed handpiece, providing a comfortable laser treatment option. Its wavelength is readily absorbed by water and efficiently vaporizes soft tissue. This unit offers a wide variety of tip options, adding to its versatility, with an extensive selection for periodontic procedures. Applications include removal of subgingival calculus, diseased, infected, inflamed, and necrosed soft tissue within the periodontal pocket, subgingival calculus, and granulation tissue from bony defects. It may also be applied for soft tissue curettage, sulcular debridement, and osseous crown lengthening.

Most notably, AdvErL Evo has been studied and recognized clinically in the effective treatment of Peri-implantitis, a challenging disease leading to bone loss around an implant. With use of AdvErL Evo, a method has been found to regenerate tissue and permanently remove bacteria with a low-heat treatment process.  Information about this study, and other peer-reviewed clinical articles, can be found at www.morita.com/usa/laser.

In terms of patient benefits, AdvErL Evo is virtually painless. There is far less trauma compared to other laser types, as vaporization is concentrated at the surface of the tissue. The energy does not penetrate and damage deep layers of tissue, nor does it disperse widely to the adjacent area around the irradiation target.

AdvErL Evo is a significant addition to Morita’s portfolio of clinical solutions. Morita has been involved in laser research for over 30 years and is now on its 3rd generation of laser technology production - refined, practical, and clinically proven to be effective for both hard and soft tissue procedures.

AdvErL Evo will be introduced at the American Academy of Periodontology Annual Meeting in San Francisco, Moscone Center West, September 19 - 22, 2014. Clinical presentations will be held during Morita’s Corporate Forum, on Friday, September 19, starting at 1:00 pm in room 3008. A cutting station will also be available at the Morita Booth, #623, level 1. For more information, call 877-JMORITA (566-7482) or visit www.morita.com/usa/laser.

MORITA ANNOUNCES THE NEW VERAVIEWEPOCS 3D R100

IRVINE, Calif. – (February 14, 2012) – Veraviewepocs 3D R100 is the latest addition to J. Morita’s 3D product line. This unit’s completely unique 3D Reuleaux Full Arch FOV (field of view) abandons the typical cylinder with a new convex triangle shape. By more closely matching the natural dental arch form, this groundbreaking FOV reduces dosage by excluding areas outside the region of interest and allows a complete scan of the maxilla and/or the mandible.

High resolution, 125 µm voxel images provide a clear observation of the periodontal pocket, the periodontal membrane, and the alveolar bone, as well as soft tissue such as the maxillary sinus membrane. A special dose reduction mode lowers exposure for soft tissue which reduces dosage to a mere 60% of the standard mode. Multifunctional, it also offers panoramic and cephalometric imaging options.

Featuring i-Dixel 2.0 3D imaging software, this unit offers full TDO Practice Management Software integration, as well as certified compatibility with several popular 3rd party imaging software programs with a DICOM export function. With a total of six fields of view from 40 x 40 mm up to 100 x 80 mm, 3D R100 is ideal for implantology, as well as being suitable for periodontology, orthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and general dentistry.

“The Veraviewepocs 3D R100 is a significant addition to our 3D product line,” commented Steven White, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “For the first time, we are able to offer a wide field of view range in a multifunctional unit. With its flexibility, proven clarity, and the footprint of a digital panoramic, 3D R100 is a practical choice for any private practice.”

Veraviewepocs 3D R100 will be introduced at the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting February 23 – 25, 2012. Stop by the Morita booth, number 2606, to learn more. Or, for more information, call 877-JMORITA (566-7482). Visit us at www.morita.com/usa/R100.

Root ZX mini measures just over 4” x 2 1/3”. Its compact and lightweight design makes it conveniently portable; it can easily be moved to work in any quadrant of the mouth and it takes up very little counter space when it is stored after use. J. MORITA ANNOUNCES 3D ACCUITOMO 170 & I-DIXEL 2.0 SOFTWARE

IRVINE, Calif. – (February 10, 2011) – J. Morita, world leader in imaging technology, has announced a new cone beam (or 3D) X-ray unit. Highly refined, the 3D Accuitomo 170 is the 4th generation of the Accuitomo product line.  Recent updates in image acquisition have further enhanced clarity of image, yet this unit also offers a dramatic reduction in dosage. The i-Dixel 2.0 3D imaging software release includes a range of feature enhancements and improvements including an intuitive, new user interface.

The new Dose Reduction Feature decreases patient exposure 30% to 40% compared to the previous Accuitomo model. Now, even the largest field of view (FOV) of the entire head and neck area is 25% less dosage than an FMX, F-speed film.* Nine FOV options allow practitioners to keep dosage to a minimum by closely matching the region of interest. Small FOV images, starting at just 40 x 40 mm, can be applied in endodontics including the diagnosis of fractures. Larger options, up to 170 x 120 mm, cover the entire head and neck area which enable a comprehensive examination for surgery or treatment planning for implants.

This unit’s industry leading clarity can be attributed to several features including the most advanced 3D sensors in the world, a voxel size of just 80 micrometers, 14 bit grayscale capability, and resolution greater than two line pairs per millimeter. It also offers a secure patient stabilization method for both the head and chin to help prevent patient movement during acquisition.

Zoom reconstruction is another feature unique to 3D Accuitomo. It always acquires data at 80 micrometers, the highest level of resolution. The user is able to choose a lower resolution for display, however, for large fields of view to reduce reconstruction time and file size. If a small region of interest is identified in the original scan, and more detail is needed in that area, Zoom Reconstruction will produce an 80 micrometer image of that small region without retaking the image. No other unit offers this feature.

i-Dixel 2.0, 3D imaging software, comes standard with all Morita 3D units including the Accuitomo and Veraviewepocs product lines. It is compatible with Microsoft Windows® 7 and can be seamlessly integrated into a network environment.  An improved user interface makes i-Dixel 2.0 easier to use and navigate. Updated filters between i-Dixel and One Volume Viewer (viewing software) offer uniform image quality and resolution. Several new features have also been added for advanced image manipulation including real time re-slice in the highest resolution, implant planning, and a nerve canal tracing function. i-Dixel 2.0 is also fully integrated with TDO Practice Management Software – the most comprehensive and widely used endodontic software in the world. TDO users can seamlessly incorporate any Morita 3D unit into their practice with full compatibility.

More details about 3D Accuitomo 170, i-Dixel 2.0 software, and the basics of cone beam imaging, will be presented at the upcoming Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting, February 24 – 26, 2011. Morita will be hosting presentations by a radiologist daily at 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:30 pm at Booth #3006.

J. MORITA ANNOUNCES CONE BEAM/3D DOSE REDUCTION OF 30 - 40%

IRVINE, Calif. – (January 25, 2011) – J. Morita, world leader in imaging technology, today announced a major reduction in X-ray dosage of its cone beam (or 3D) X-ray units. Morita’s 3D product lines now come automatically equipped with a Dose Reduction Feature that lowers dosage from 30% to 40% on all three-dimensional fields of view. Additionally, the Dose Reduction Feature does not diminish clarity of image, and in fact, enhances the display of soft tissue.

“An important point to make about Morita’s technology is that these units were already on the lowest end of the spectrum for dosage, this has been demonstrated in third party, scientific research,” commented Keisuke Mori, Executive Vice President and Vice President of Technical engineering. “In the nearly 20 years that Morita has been researching and manufacturing 3D units, our engineers have always been guided by the standard radiographic dosage principles of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) and patient safety.  Reducing the dosage an additional 30% to 40% while enhancing image quality is an incredible achievement.”

The Dose Reduction Feature is rooted in how the machines acquire information. Through advanced engineering, the intensity of the X-rays has been optimized which decreases the overall level of emissions and dosage.  Maximizing the efficiency of the machines has also resulted in sharper images of soft tissue with fewer artifacts.

“The Dose Reduction Feature is 100% automatic,” said Steven White, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “This feature comes standard on every 3D unit Morita sells which includes the Accuitomo and Veraviewepocs product lines with no retail price increase. Additionally, Morita 3D units that are already in the field can be upgraded with minimal, if any, part replacement.”

More details of this advancement, and the basics of cone beam imaging, will be presented at the upcoming Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting, February 2 4 – 26, 2011. Morita will be hosting presentations by a radiologist daily at 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:30 pm at Booth #3006.
